    In my opinion, the best way to eat asparagus is without a lot of creamy sauce and letting the asparagus be the star.

    I love it steamed and then chilled with a bit of olive oil and grated parmesan cheese.

    ItsĀ also really good with just a bit of salt, if you have really fresh asparagus.

    Grilling asparagus is great in the summertime, and makes a yummy side dish to steak or fish fresh off the grill.

    Its also great mixed in with your favorite pasta dishes. I love it with pesto and fettuccini or with chili oil and lemon on pene.

    To make a great chili oil:

    Empty a bottle of extra virgin olive oil into a small pot with some red pepper flakes and a little bit of chili powder. Heat the oli and chili over low heat, making sure that you do not boil the oil. Continue heating until the oil has turned slightly red and then allow to cool.

    My family likes this oil plain over pasta or as a dipping sauce for bread.
